It seems Russia has now withdrawn its request for a special meeting of the UN Security Council since there is no commitment to set aside military action. Who knows what is really going on?
The president will address the nation in prime time tonight. After the years of this presidency and the evolution of the difficulties in Syria, I am a bit skeptical that the president will be able to convince a sufficient number of citizens, especially the ones in congress, that he is capable of wielding the authority for which he is asking.
